    “No Quit!

The Flushing Bank Dragons have proudly lived by this quote since their debut at the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival in New York in 2016. With a team of more than 40 Flushing Bank employees from different branches and business units, they take on roles as paddlers, drummers, and steerers.

“Each year our employees volunteer to join the Flushing Bank Dragons. They commit their time after work and on weekends to practice. Their dedication and commitment to teamwork is admirable. The Flushing Bank Dragons are fierce competitors and make us all proud. The Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival in New York is a wonderful cultural event that enables us to demonstrate our teamwork and support for the community, all while having some fun.” - John R. Town of North Hempstead

The Town of North Hempstead partnered with Ohana Paddling Association to host the 2nd Annual Town of North Hempstead x OPA Dragon Boat Festival at North Hempstead Beach Park. Building on the success of the inaugural festival, the Town worked closely with OPA to enhance event logistics, operations, and the overall experience for athletes, vendors, and attendees.

The partnership helped bring together dragon boat teams, local businesses, cultural organizations, and families for a day of racing, food, entertainment, and community celebration. Through the Town’s continued support, the festival has grown into an event that showcases both the cultural heritage of dragon boat racing and the diversity of the North Hempstead community.goes here
